Fathers Day Cream Tea Gifts For Grandparents May 27, 2016 14:45
Cream teas are a perfect gift for Father’s or Mother’s Day:
- Starting from £20, including delivery, they are an affordable present.
- They’re an original gift idea, more unexpected than obvious presents like chocolates or flowers.
- Cream teas have a universal appeal, liked by all ages but particularly popular with grandparents sparking memories of seaside holidays to the West County.
In the UK, Father’s Day is always celebrated on the third Sunday of June which makes it Sunday 18th June 2017 this year. Our last cream tea dispatch for arrival before Fathers’ Day is Thursday 15th June so orders need to be with us by 11am on Thursday 15th. This will result in gifts arriving on Friday 16th, this delivery date can be selected from our calendar on the checkout page when ordering in advance.
All hampers also have the option to include a personal gift card message for Father’s Day, this can be entered at checkout. There’s no extra charge to include a personal Fathers’ Day message.
Our cream tea hampers themselves come with large hand-made scones from the Devon Scone Company. Owner and Chef Richard Hunt is often featured on TV and at food exhibitions, sharing his baking knowledge. His scones are based on traditional Devon Splits, perfect for soaking up the clotted cream when serving cream teas the Devon way with cream first then jam on top. Richard also produces our strawberry jam which was awarded a Taste of the West gold in 2014. Many of the customer reviews featured on our website describe the scones and jam as the best the recipient has ever tasted. The clotted cream used in our cream teas is produced by Langage Farm; Devon’s biggest manufacturer of clotted cream and the UK’s first carbon neutral dairy. Their cream regularly wins awards with the most recent being 1st place at the 2016 Devon County Show. For those looking for Father’s Day gifts for parents or grandparents based in Devon, we also sell vouchers for afternoon or cream teas at various venues around Devon. One of which that we’re very proud of is the Old Forge in Chagford. It won the best afternoon tea in the UK at the Cafe Life Awards in 2015 and was described as “Britain's best cream tea" by The Daily Telegraph in September 2015.
