Otter Nurseries, Ottery St Mary, Devon, EX11 1LZ

Cancelled for 2021

Otter Nurseries have taken the difficult decision not to run their Magical Kingdom for 2021, so there will be no Santa’s grotto this year. They hope to be back with this well-loved favourite in 2022.

Visit Santa’s magical kingdom at Otter Nurseries for a special Christmas experience. Take a journey through Santa’s Winter Wonderland and meet his friendly elves. Tickets can only be bought in advance and are £16.99 per child, including a gift and magical reindeer food. Sign up to their newsletter to hear first when tickets are released.

House of Marbles, Pottery Rd, Bovey Tracey, Devon, TQ13 9DS

Santa and his Elves will be returning to House of Marbles this Christmas. He will be at House of Marbles every Saturday and Sunday from the 20th November, as well as the 20th, 21st and 22nd December. Share all your Christmas wishes and receive a lovely gift and goody bag, filled with seasonal treats to enjoy. Tickets cost £8.50 per child and are on sale at:

Bow Garden Centre, Crediton, EX17 6LA

Visit Santa at Bow Garden Centre, Crediton. Starts from 27 & 28 November, 2021 and every weekend in December up until (and including) Christmas Eve. Only pre-booked tickets are allowed so don’t turn up without having booked. Tickets are £7.99 per child including a gift, craft activity, paper chain kit to take home and a treasure trail.

Pennywell Farm, Buckfastleigh, Devon, TQ11 0LT

Arrive at the magical North Pole where you will be greeted by Pennywell’s friendly Elves to check-in. Collect your Christmas passport and get the stamps as you journey through the Christmas experience. Experience the story of the nativity with a real manger and all the Pennywell animals looking on. Afterwards, head to Noah’s Barn for delicious mince pies and warming drinks for the adults and homemade Christmas biscuits and cold drinks for the children.Visit the Elves Sweetshop with a bag of yummy sweets for every child. Finally, enter the sparkly enchanted forest where Father Christmas will be waiting in his grotto with a special gift for every child. The Christmas experience is a socially distanced shared group event with very limited numbers. The visit to Father Christmas will be socially distanced with plenty of room in his grotto for all the family.

Bygones Breakfast with Santa Event on Thursday 23 and Friday 24 December 2021 at 10am. Tickets must be pre-booked and there will be limited numbers and no mixed table groups. £15 per person with a non-refundable deposit of £7.50 pp. Book at and they will ring to confirm and take the deposit.

This event includes breakfast, entry to Victorian Christmas, children’s hunt and visit to Santa’s hideout with a gift for all children.

Join Seaton Tramway for THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Tram Ride. Families will enjoy a magical tram ride to Santa’s home at the North Pole in one of the specially decorated single deck tramcars, enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, a delicious treat, speak to Santa and admire the awesome lights whilst you walk around the North Pole. Children will also receive the first gift of Christmas from Santa himself. Upon the return journey, enjoy singing along to Christmas carols.

The Christmas Shopping Fayre at Westpoint boasts 3 days of festive shopping, all under one roof. Admission costs £4 for adults (16 and under are free) and includes the free Santa’s grotto.

Endsleigh Garden Centre, Ivybridge, Devon, PL21 9JL.

There’s no information available yet if Endsleigh will be holding a Santa’s Grotto for 2021 so keep checking their website.

South Devon Railway, Buckfastleigh, Devon, TQ11 0DZ.

20th, 21st, 26th, 27th, and 28th November and 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, and 15th to 23rd December

Your children will gasp with amazement as the Polar Express train pulls into the station. Your authentic steam train ride will last around an hour. Trains leave Buckfastleigh Station after which they theatrically recreate the film for passengers. Throughout your train ride you’ll be entertained, meeting the Conductor and his crew. All the while the train steams towards the North Pole Here you’ll meet Santa and one of his friendly elves. He will climb on board the train to meet you all. The Conductor will even clip your Polar Express tickets just like in the film. And don’t be surprised if you have to stop for caribou. Make sure you know what noise one makes as you may have to help clear them. After the show, there’ll be a photo opportunity where the whole family can pose with the Polar Express train. Father Christmas will be at Escot in his Christmas Grotto with presents for visiting children. There will be activity stalls with things for children to make and decorate. In the park you can see the otters receive their Christmas presents and enjoy traditional Yuletide fare in the outdoor Christmas Kitchen and Coach House Restaurant.

Crealy has loads going on during their Christmas spectacular event including: The Elves and the Shoemaker Ice Show, Santa’s Toy Shop, Santa’s Farewell Parade and Buddy & Blossom’s Christmas Bash. There is no information available about meeting Santa at Arlington Court for 2021 but there is a Percy the Park Keeper’s winter wander trail taking place between Sat 4 - Sun 19 Dec (open Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays only).

Come along and enjoy the festive spirit of Christmas Special Trains on 18, 19, 21 and 24 December 2021

and Mince Pie Special Trains on 29 December 2021 (see website for all dates). All passengers are offered a mince pie and a hot drink. There’s no need to book in advance, just turn up for your magical journey on heritage steam hauled trains. The Victorian Carriages contain 23 separate compartments (including four 1st Class), one for each family group.

Free activities included in your visit to Paignton Zoo include joining Mrs Claus as she reads a magical Christmas story and then making reindeer food at the elf workshop. Selected dates between 4 December and 23 December 2021. Set sail on the calm waters of the River Exe taking some well-deserved time out to enjoy Christmas together. Meet Santa in his enchanting on-board grotto where the children will receive an amazing handpicked gift whilst the grown ups can enjoy a glass of secret recipe mulled wine and a locally baked mince pie.

Santa is making a special visit to Bicton. Come and see him in his Snow Globe! The Big Breakfast with Father Christmas, 20 to 24 December 2021. Each table will have their own waffle/ pancake station where the children can decorate their own cooked breakfasts or if they choose waffle or pancake breakfasts and will have a treat to take home as well as getting to spend time with Father Christmas and his elf and receive a lovely present all in the lovely festive setting of Ullacombe. Plymouth Boat Trips, Barbican Landing Stage

Santa’s Christmas Party Cruise, 11 & 12 December 12 noon and 2pm 2021.

A fun and festive cruise for the whole family. Ticket price includes a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie for adults, plus a soft drink and small gift for each child. With festive music and face painting it’s the best Christmas party in town!

The excitement is tangible at the Saunton grotto. Right before the big day, children (and grown-ups!) can meet Mr Claus in his wintry home to check if they are on the nice list. There is a small gift for every child as well as a festive-themed afternoon tea, for children and parents, to top off the afternoon. Meet Santa (must be pre-booked), enjoy boozy hot chocolate or mulled wine for the adults and enjoy festive food and cheer a-plenty for everyone! Booking for santa is essential or just pop up & enjoy the festive food, music and atmosphere - fundraising for Hospiscare.
